Introduction
1.

The Education Scholarship 2003-04 was approved during the fourth GBM held on 02 Feb 2003. The scheme will cover children of all BSA members, both serving and retired. The children studying in public or private schools duly recognized by the State or the Central Govt will be eligible for the scholarship. The eligibility, details of scholarship, criteria & method of selection is given in this SOP.

Eligibility
2.

Children of BSA members between the ages 10 yrs and 20 yrs are eligible for the scholarship. A minimum of 75% marks will be required in the respective class for which the scholarship will be awarded.

3.

The qualifying date for this purpose will be the date the child passes the yearly examination or the termination of the academic year. The scholarship will be awarded based on the result of the class the student is studying.

4.

The scholarship will be awarded in the ratio Offrs:JCOs:ORs: = 1 : 2 : 4.5 i.e in each class, out of 15 scholarships,  2 will be for Offrs, 4 will be for JCOs children and 9 for ORs children.  If for some reasons the applicants for scholarship  are not sufficient for any class, the Management Committee can increase the number of scholarship in other classes.   However, the eligibility percentage for each class will be 75% and above.   In case of a ‘tie’ between the students, the younger child will get the award.
